I talked to Tori Amos, not only about her love for music, but also about her love for Berlin hahaha New York...
I am here in front of the „Konzerthaus“, right on the Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin and Tori Amos received here an „Echo Classic“.“ The „Echo“ is one of the most renowned awards in music industry and I talked to Tori Amos, not only about her love for music, but also, of course, about her love for Berlin.
When I am here I´m always looking at the architecture as well. You´re drawn to the art, the design. Songwriting is very much about design and I´m drawn to visual design as well.
What´s your relationship with Berlin?
Well, so many people that I know consider this their favourite city in the whole world and I would love to get shown it through the eyes of people that know it.
Do you think that, ´cause we know you´d been singing about many terrible things that have happened to you, ehm, do you think music saved your life in a way?
Well, I think, music, without music, I don´t know what would have happened to me. I think it´s a great healer and I think that by creating you turn destructive things into, you know, you birth something. So out of negativity or violence or, eh, incredible wounding, you turn a wound into, ehm, a magical expression and I think that´s really the power music has to heal.
Thank you so much. Thank You
